Origins
1981 was the year in which IBM launched the first widely-used personal computer, and it was at that time that the founder of Green Light Systems, Stephen Buchan, first began working with computer technology.
Stephen's career in information technology spans numerous roles in a variety of industries, including:
    software development in the C language for
       newspaper and multimedia publishing
       companies
    requirements analysis and systems design
       for hypertext delivery systems at Ford,
       Volvo, Shell Expro and British Gas
    design of HML, an SGML markup for on-
       screen document publishing, anticipating
       the publication of the HTML and XML
       standards by a number of years
    project management of ICS's outpatients
       system, deployed in most Glasgow NHS
       Trusts
In 1998 Stephen branched out on his own, forming the company Green Light Systems Ltd, to satisfy the ever-growing demand from today's organisations seeking independent, experienced and reliable outsourced IT consultants.
Stephen's solid technical background, coupled with extensive experience in exploring customer needs in varied industries, ensures that his application of the latest technologies is both efficient and customer-oriented.
